On 12 November the 28th edition of the Mitja Marató & 10K Ciutat de Gandia took place, attracting more than 3,000 runners from various parts of the world.
Abdelmajid Elhissouf and Luis Agustín Escriche in the male category, and Maurine Jemutai Toroitich, Ana Caleya Santiago and Elisabet Martin Almansa in the female category. Both Razyn and Toroitich set new records, being rewarded with 500 euros each for overcoming the marks of the previous year, according to the promise of the Club de Correr El Garbí, organizer of the event.
In the 10K, Luis Caballero Montosa, Alejandro Sanvalero Sanchis and Santiago Brunet Cabrera stood out on the men’s podium, while María Fuentes Olcina, Lorena Rodríguez Martínez and Hue Nguyen made it in the women’s category. The El Garbí Running Club expressed its appreciation for the support of local volunteers and flaws, which were distributed throughout the tour to encourage the participants.
The mayor of the municipality, José Manuel Prieto, the delegate of sports council, Jesús Naveiro, and the delegated of tourism, Balbina Sendra, were present at the event, along with other members of the City Hall. The participation and support of the local community contributed to the overall success of the competition.
