Gandia, Intelligent Tourist Destination

The city of Gandia has been recognized for its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the field of tourism.

In an emotional event held during Fitur, Mayor José Manuel Prieto received the certification of Intelligent Adhered Tourist Destination, highlighting the successful implementation of the DTI model in the locality. This distinction, awarded by the State Secretariat for Tourism and managed by Segittur, reflects the vision of local government in promoting a future strategy based on governance, sustainability, accessibility, innovation and technology.

Since 2022, Gandia has been an active part of the Intelligent Tourist Destinations Network, a national project that seeks to drive digital transformation and sustainable development in tourist destinations. The distinction obtained is the result of joint work between the municipal government and various areas, with special emphasis on the Department of Tourism, Beaches and Outdoor Promotion. Tourism Councillor Balbina Sendra expressed her satisfaction with the recognition, stressing the importance of cross-cutting involvement and reaffirming Gandia’s commitment to continue to move towards a tourism management model based on sustainability, innovation and technology.
