The Intelligent Destinations Platform, led by Segittur, advances steadily after two years of work, consolidating Spain as a pioneer in data-based tourism management

Enrique Martínez, president of the entity, has revealed the modules that make up this platform, whose bidding will be completed in two months. These modules include a range of common services and an indicative catalogue for each destination to choose according to their needs.

The first step involves the availability of 20 basic services for all destinations, regardless of their level of digitization. These services focus on collecting data during the tourist’s stay, an aspect that has so far been underestimated, as most of the data was obtained before the trip. This collaborative approach between Spain and the tourism sector promises to improve the competitiveness of destinations.

In this context, a total of EUR 96 million in aid was announced for the technological development of tourist destinations. These grants, aimed at local entities and unprovincial communities, will finance 100% of the investment and provide technical assistance and training. The objective is to enhance digitization and data contribution to the Intelligent Destination Platform.

The development of this platform focuses on providing transparency and improvements in the management of tourist destinations, adapting to the specific needs of each. The final step will include the creation of a data space, a transparent and secure repository that facilitates experimentation and data exchange between destinations and.
