The Thinktur Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Trends Club has brought together industry professionals to address sustainability challenges.

At the annual meeting, held on Tuesday 9th April, it brought together ITH-associated technology companies, both manufacturers and service providers, to discuss the actions carried out in 2023 and to plan the actions for this year. One of the main news was the disclosure of new grants for energy efficiency and circular economy projects in tourism enterprises.

Outstanding presence of sustainability experts

The event was attended by prominent professionals in sustainability and energy efficiency, representatives of technology companies associated with ITH, including Pablo Blanco of TTR Mechanical, Manuel Castro de Remica and María Ballesteros of LaBella Associates, among others.

After evaluating the results of the ITHSaveHotel programme, which has already visited 81 hotels, it was agreed to intensify its dissemination. The current situation offers an opportunity to meet the new energy needs arising in tourist establishments, resulting from climate change and the massification of new destinations.

New impetus for energy efficiency

New grants were for energy efficiency and circular economy projects in tourism enterprises, now allowing the inclusion of photovoltaic energy projects and increasing the amount of aid. The establishments participating in the ITHSaveHotel programme are expected to benefit from these grants to finance their energy rehabilitation projects.
