The mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, and the delegate of Culture, Balbina Sendra, revealed today the exciting program of Christmas activities that will take place in the city from this week until January 5.

With a total of 78 events distributed in various neighborhoods, the program opened this Friday, December 1st, with the Christmas lighting in the Plaza del Prado at 18 hours, followed by a charming concert by Dani Miquel aimed at the youngest.

Prieto highlighted the commitment of the City Council to sustainability, informing that the LED lights will be on only until 1 am, except on public holidays, where they will last until 4 am. As a novelty, this year light signs with Christmas words are incorporated in the historical center.

The ‘Plaça del Nadal‘ will return to the square of the Escola Pia, offering the children a village of Santa Claus, the mailbox of the Magi and thematic workshops, from December 22 to January 5th, at specific times.

Music and tradition will also have a prominent place in the Colegiata with the Cant de la Sibil·la and the Christmas Concert of the Symphony Orchestra ‘Victoria Fernández’, both of free entrance to bring music closer to the whole city.

Santa Claus and the Magi, together with the celebration of New Year’s Eve, will be the culminating moments. The last night of the year will include children’s bells, an afternoon with performances in the Plaza Mayor and a night party in the Prado with live music from the Titánic Orchestra and pyrotechnic shows.

The full schedule is available on the website of the City Hall, detailing the activities by neighborhood. Prieto expressed his desire to put aside differences and enter 2024 with optimism.
