The May Bridge has been a huge success for the city of Gandia, with occupation figures reflecting a significant boost in foreign tourism.
Tourism and Beach Councillor Balbina Sendra that hotels reached an average occupation of 85%, while campings almost reached the full with an impressive 95%. Specifically, Sendra highlighted that 80% of the visitors to the campsites were international tourists, highlighting the growing interest of this segment in enjoying the favorable climate throughout the year.
In the area of hospitality, Sendra explained that many establishments hung the full sign thanks to the good weather and the dynamization activities planned. The Dance Day dance demonstration, held in the Ducal area last Saturday, was a clear example of the success of these activities, with the participation of about 1,000 people who the show.
The positive reception of the activities organized during the May Bridge shows the positive impact of the tourism promotion initiatives in Gandia. Sendra stressed the importance of continuing with this type of events to attract both domestic and international tourists and to further strengthen the local economy through tourism.
