The beach of Gandia, in the Valencian Community, has reached almost full occupancy levels during the 2023 Easter Week, surpassing pre-pandemic records. According to tourism reports, the average hotel occupancy rate during the first weekend of April was 83%, with eight three and four-star hotels reaching occupancies of 99% and 100%. For the next weekend, it is expected that occupancy will reach 91%, with five hotels already displaying “full” signs.
The high occupancy is due to a combination of good weather, the arrival of thousands of visitors, and the celebration of Easter Week. Gandia has prepared to receive thousands of tourists who take advantage of the holidays, especially on the beach. The capital of La Safor already achieved an average occupancy rate of 83% during the past holiday weekend, and occupancy expectations for Easter Week are even higher.
The recovery of tourism in Spain is reflected in the image of a country on vacation, with millions of people enjoying days of rest and religious fervor. In Gandia, the high occupancy is an indicator of the recovery of tourism activity, which is expected to continue in the coming months.
