For 38 consecutive years, the North Gandia beach has been awarded the coveted Blue Flag.

It has consolidated as one of the few beaches in Spain to maintain this recognition from the beginning of the seal. In addition, the Auir beach has won this recognition for the third time, highlighting the excellence of the beaches of the region.

The mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of these awards, highlighting the quality and the excellent services offered by the beach. Prieto stressed the importance of this achievement for the city, not only as a tourist and economic engine, but also as a precious property that has been carefully cared for and preserved.

The Association of Environmental Education and Consumer (ADEAC), responsible for awarding these distinctives, has highlighted that the beaches of Gandia meet high standards of environmental quality, services and safety for users. In addition, Gandia will host, together with Alfàs del Pi, the second International Blue Flag Congress, in October of this year, highlighting the city’s leadership and exemplary in the area of sustainability and the quality of its beaches.
