The Councillor of Heritage of Gandia, Alícia Izquierdo, and the director of the Museu Arqueològic de Gandia (MAGa), Joan Negre, have presented an extended programme of guided visits to heritage spaces of the city, available from 20 June to 15 September.

This year, the offer includes new sites such as the Torre dels Pares and the Cova de les Meravelles, which add to the already known Castillo de Bairén, Cova del Parpalló, Morabit de Marxuquera and the MAGa. The visits will have a price of 1 euro in reduced rate and 2 euros in general rate, with free access for residents of Gandia during the first week of each month.

The visits will be scheduled at specific times to take advantage of summer evenings, a strategy that is not implemented in winter. The Torre dels Pares will open on Thursday at 19:00, the Castle of Bairén on Friday at 19:00 and the MAGa on Saturday at 12:00. The Cova del Parpalló will receive visitors on Saturdays at 18:00 and Sundays at 10:00, while the Morabit and Cova de les Meravelles will be available on the last Sunday of each month. Reservations for all activities, except for visits to the MAGa, must be made in advance through the website ‘visitgandia.com’ or by e-mail to ‘difusiomaga@ Gandia.org’.

Joan Negre highlighted that in the last five years, the number of visitors to the heritage sites of Gandia has grown exponentially, from having only the Cova del Parpalló open to include five new spaces. This expansion reflects the success and the growing demand for knowledge of the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
