Gandia is driving the internationalization of the listed berry, a local agricultural product that has been rediscovered by chefs and now enjoys great popularity.
From June 15 to July 14, the Berenjena Listada Gastronomic Days will be held, where 28 restaurants in the area will prepare innovative dishes with this ingredient. The tourism councillor, Balbina Sendra, and the president of Destí Safor, Amadeo Faus, presented this initiative at a press conference.
Sendra highlighted that these days not only value the berry listed in Gandia, but also promote agricultural sustainability and the rich local gastronomy. “This initiative emphasizes the importance of our gastronomy and our agricultural heritage, benefiting both residents and visitors,” he said. The participating restaurants have committed themselves to creating innovative dishes that go beyond the traditional use of berry.

Amadeo Faus emphasized the importance of the zero-kilometer product, as this year a local farmer will be the supplier of berry for the days. He described the listed berry of Gandia as a special product due to its sweetness and lack of itching, features that allow the creation of unique dishes. The collaboration between the gastronomic sector and local agriculture reinforces the cultural and economic value of this culinary event.
