Last week, the mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, and the councillor of Tourism, Balbina Sendra, participated in the award ceremony of the Diversa Awards.

In its eighth edition, these awards highlight the contribution of institutions, companies and personalities in the awareness-raising and defence of LGBT diversity. During the event, Sendra received the distinction that acknowledges Gandia as a member of the Spanish Network of Destinations for Diversity, an initiative that seeks to foster a more inclusive tourism and business environment for the LGBT community.

Prieto and Sendra expressed their satisfaction for this recognition, which reaffirms Gandia as an inclusive destination. They emphasized that this achievement would foster the creation of synergies with other institutions and collectives, which would benefit the tourist occupation. The inclusion of Gandia in this network is an important step in promoting diversity and inclusion in the tourism sector, strengthening its position as a reference in the defence of LGBT rights.
