Gandia is preparing for the Basket Summer Cup, a prominent basketball tournament to be held on June 8 and 9, bringing together teams from across the country.
Jesus Naveiro, Director-General of Sports, along with Nacho Macipe of QL Sport and José Luís Serra of Proinbeni UPB Gandia, have highlighted the importance of this sporting event, which will attract more than 2,000 athletes and their families, benefiting the local economy through tourism and sport.
The competition will take place in several sports facilities of Gandia, such as the municipal polydeportivo, the Raval pavilion and the semi-covered track of Beniopa, as well as other locations in Oliva, Bellreguard, Xeraco, Llocnou de Sant Jeroni, Real de Gandia and Favara. 164 teams will participate in categories ranging from Benjamin to Senior, in both male and female modes. The matches will follow a group and cross stage format, with prizes of gold, silver and bronze.
The teams will arrive in Gandia on June 7th and will compete intensely during the weekend. The matches will be played from 9 a.m. to 9 p. m. on Saturday, followed by a party at the beach baseball field.
The final day will be on Sunday, ending with the award of trophies. All information and broadcast of the matches will be available in the QLSport app and the YouTube and Twitch channels of the organizing company.
