The Baladre Space will be the venue of the 49th International Fideuà Competition in Gandia, to be held next Wednesday 5 June, where 30 participants will compete for the title of “best fideuá” in the world

The event was presented this morning in the Palau Alameda of Valencia, with the presence of the mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto; the president of the Gastronomic Association Fideuà of Gandía, Avelino Alfaro; the autonomous secretary of Tourism, Cristina Moreno; and the delegate of tourism, Balbina Sendra, in addition to other institutional representatives and the tourism sector.

The competition will have a top-level jury, composed of gastronomic experts and chefs recognized with Estrella Michelin and Soles Repsol, such as Ricard Camarena and Susi Díaz. Avelino Alfaro highlighted the history and perseverance that have enabled the event to take place over the years, thanking the sector for its collaboration and the support of the local authorities.

Mayor José Manuel Prieto stressed the importance of the contest as ambassador of gastronomy of Gandia and advanced that special celebrations are being prepared for the 50th anniversary next year.

Cristina Moreno emphasized the relevance of the gastronomic product as the engine of employment and economic growth. Prieto also highlighted the new location of the contest at the Espai Baladre of the beach, stating that it is not only about the place, but the quality of the experience that Gandia can offer its visitors, encouraging them to come back and stay in the city.
