The International Centre of Gandia and the Department of Culture have organized three talks about the Valencian painter, in the year of the centenary of his death.
To begin with the lectures, next Thursday 2nd November, at the Casa de Cultura Marqués de Quirós at 19:00h, the professor of Art History, Rafael Gil, will present “Sorolla: his life, his work and his time“.
A week later, on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th November, the remaining two talks will be held. On Wednesday 8th at 19:00h, from the hand of Mariángeles Pérez, Professor of Art History, the theme of sadness and melancholy in the work of Sorolla, work marked by the Mediterranean and the luminosity will be dealt with.
Finally on Thursday 9th Blanca Cerdà will be responsible for closing these talks with “Fraternal ties: Blasco Ibañez, Sorolla and Benlliure” in which she will analyze the relationship between the three artists and their leap to fame.
