This new installment of Polifacétics UPV, a program focused on giving visibility to the various chairs of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has been focused on the Gandía Chair of Intelligent Tourism, interviewing various experts in the tourism field that make up our chair, such as Vicente Altur, Lluís Miret and Agustín Gómez, in addition to this, in the “From dejuni to la Safor” section, Vicente Mascarell, councilor of Gandía Tourism, has been interviewed.

Vicente Macarell’s interview focuses on tourism studies and the influence they have had on tourism in the City. Vicente Mascarell has declared that “Gandía has won with the arrival of the university and studies in tourism.” Regarding Smart Tourism, he has emphasized Gandía’s strategic plan to transform this tourist destination into a more innovative, sustainable and intelligent one, Gandía being the first destination in the entire Valencian community to adopt this plan. In addition to this, various issues related to tourism studies in Gandía have been addressed.

Alberto Palomares, professor at the UPV and director of the master’s degree in Tourism Intelligence, was also interviewed about the concepts and contents of this new master’s degree. In the Polifacétics UPV gathering, Vicent Altur highlighted that “Today all tourism is done through the Internet”. Lluís Miret, a professor at the UPV, for his part, explained that next year tourism training will be very different thanks to the arrival of the master’s degree in Tourism Intelligence. Related to this new master’s degree, Agustín Gómez has declared that it will help students to adapt to the new times regarding technology and tourism, as well as understanding the importance of tourist information and data processing.

This gathering will address more issues related to the tourism sector, artificial intelligence, tourism studies, as well as the importance of business practices, the prizes awarded by the chair and issues related to the city of Gandía itself. You can not lose this!
