The City Council of Gandia has announced a series of projects that represent a total investment of more than one million euros. Among them, the integral rehabilitation of the Chapel of the Assumption stands out, which will be converted into a Visitor Reception Center and will have an interpretation center of the Gandian writers Ausias March, Joan Roís de Corella, and Joanot Martorell, from the Golden Age. The project will cost 350,000 euros, financed with the last treasury surplus.
Another important project is the creation of a large Green Ring that will connect all periurban areas of the city, uniting areas of great ecological and landscape value and serving as a transition space between the urban and rural or agricultural areas. The planned budget for this project amounts to 500,000 euros. In addition, 250,000 euros will be allocated for the purchase of land in the Clot de la Mota area, with the aim of building a connection between the Beach and the Bairén Castle, which will have an elevated passage above the ring road.
These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to promote tourism in Gandia and connect different areas of the city, which includes an investment of more than 7 million euros in various projects, such as the green corridors of the Beniopa/San Nicolás and Serpis ravines. Both the councilor of Territory Management and Artistic and Cultural Heritage, Alícia Izquierdo, and the councilor of Tourism, Vicent Mascarell, have highlighted the importance of these actions for the development of the city and the promotion of the cultural and natural heritage of the area.
