The Serrano Theatre of Gandia will host the seventeenth edition of the Cycle of Cinema in Valencià, an initiative born in 2006 of the Valencian universities based in Gandia

The program will start on November 22 with “Un cel de plom” by Miquel Romans and will continue during the week with “Petits grans amigos” by Andréa Bescond. The Italian film “El caso Braibanti” will close the cycle on 17 January. The projections will be free for holders of university licences and the Xarxa de Biblioteques of Gandia, while the general public will pay 2 euros.

The Cycle of Cinema in Valencià arrives in the classrooms with “Titina”

In parallel, the cycle extends to the educational field with the projection of “Titina” for second and third grade primary school students on 15 December. The Governor of Education and Linguistic Policy, Esther Sapena, stresses the importance of schools submitting applications before 30 November to screen the film at the Agència AVIVA of Promoció del Valencià. Sapena stresses the satisfaction of bringing the program to schools, allowing children to enjoy cinema in Valencian, and highlights the diversity of titles projected, from “King Kong” to “Harry Potter”.

The Mancomunitat supports the Cycle of Cinema in Valencià as a motor of linguistic standardization

The vice president of the Mancomunitat emphasizes the importance of cinema in Valencian as a tool for linguistic standardization, urging the local community to participate in the projections. The initiative, which has been consolidated as a cultural reference, offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the seventh art in the language of the region, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the Valencian.
