The VII World Summit of Travel Agency Associations, organized by the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV), concluded in Granada with the participation of almost 200 professionals from all over the world.
During the three days of the event, which took place from 8th to 10th of November, lectures and discussions focused on topics such as sustainability, innovation, new consumer trends and relations with airlines.
During the first day, topics such as sustainable tourism were addressed, with discussions on the response of the agency sector to the challenges of sustainability. New consumer trends in travel were also explored, highlighting the importance of technology and the concern for sustainability among today’s travellers.
The second day focused on the relationship between the travel agency sector and airlines, addressing recent tensions and the need to work together for the future. The key role of agencies in airline sales was discussed, and the importance of considering opportunities rather than obstacles was highlighted.
Innovation in travel was another key topic, and the summit concluded with a closing debate led by CEAV President Carlos Garrido and Executive First Vice President José Manuel Lastra, with the participation of all attendees. The Summit was supported by the Tourism, Culture and Sports Council of the Junta de Andalucía, the Municipality of Granada and other regular collaborators of the CEAV.
